Association of Western Australia, the Perth Polocrosse Club and
the Polocrosse Association of Australia are pleased to announce,
given the positive nature of the Notice of 17 March 2008 from
the WA Department of Agriculture & Food,
The 2008 Australian National Championships will be held as
planned for
13 – 19 October 2008
It is wonderful news and we look forward to seeing everyone in
Perth.
There will be a dedicated Nationals website

Polocrosse
Association of Australia Junior Ambassador
The Ambassador for Junior Polocrosse is a new initiative for
Polocrosse Australia; drawn from the Polocrosse Junior Policy
and developed by the National Coaching Director, State Coaching
Directors and Junior Development Officers.
The Polocrosse Association of Australia is pleased to announce
that the Ambassador for Junior Polocrosse is Suzette Lyster Ridley
Polocrosse World Cup - Best International Lady Player & Western
Australia State Representative for the last 10 years.
The
Ambassador for Junior Polocrosse will:
- Undertake training/coaching and polocrosse demonstration sessions
and clinics.
- Inspire Juniors.
- Encourage Juniors to lead an active health life.
- Promoting fair play and positive sporting behaviour –
on and off the field.
- Contribute to a Junior Polocrosse Website presence.
- Liaise with the National Junior Development Officer & National
Executive Officer
- Provide feedback and comment on the Junior Development Program
It
is proposed that the Ambassador for Junior Polocrosse may attend:
- Tri-State Tournament
- Junior Elite Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra
- State Training Camps & Clinics
- Conduct Coaching Clinics at the Australian National Championships

Australia has a new Member Protection Policy
The
Member Protection Policy has been developed to ensure that all
members are afforded with a positive experience whilst participating
in all aspects of the Sport.
The
Policy provides members with an understanding of the expectations
and remedies in the protection of our members.

ABC Landline joined
thousands of others at the 2007 Polocrosse World Cup
Landline is Australia's national rural issues program.
The full hour of Landline can be seen on Sundays at noon and
is repeated on the following Monday at 11:00 am.
Landline can also be seen on ABC
2 on Sundays at 5:00 pm.

World Cup fever hits Warwick

SALLY SARA, PRESENTER: Four years ago, the Queensland
country town of Warwick hosted the first ever Polocrosse World
Cup.
The event was a huge success, and since then, the horse sport
has boomed both here and overseas.
Last week, the world's best polocrosse players and horses fought
for the coveted trophy, with the Australians showing, yet again,
they are the best in the world.

Our Australian Team...
...Gathered in Ballarat on 10 & 11th April for a Practice Weekend.
They flew onto to Canberra where they attended the Australian
Institute of Sport (AIS), they launched into a rigorous fitness
training programme which included aerobics, strength and conditioning,
physiology, psychology, nutrition and diet, flexibility and recovery.

Governor-General to open Polocrosse World
Cup
Organisers of the Ridley Polocrosse World Cup have just received
confirmation that the Governor-General has accepted an invitation
to officially open the competition on 23 April 2007.
The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia - His Excellency
Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC (Retd) – is patron
of the Polocrosse Association of Australia.
World Cup Chairman Mr Les Fraser announced today that the Governor-General
will officially the World Cup at a ceremony at 9am on Monday 23
April at Morgan Park, Warwick, on Queensland’s Southern
Downs.
Mr Fraser said, “The presence of His Excellency will provide
a magnificent start to this international competition. It will
be a real boost for regional South East Queensland and a draw
card for people right across the region. This will also be a particular
treat for dozens of school groups who have registered to attend
the opening day. For those reasons, and because he is our national
Patron, we are absolutely delighted.”
