First of all, I would like to congratulate Narrabri for hosting this Carnival – a real
credit to all their members and volunteers involved.
A great big thank you must go out to Mark Wilson for doing a wonderful job in organizing all of the background things at made the competition run smoothly.
A special thank you to both April Leggett and Ella Elks both ladies coached the sides and did a tremendous job.
Our Umpires for the matches were Trent Mortimer and Gary Stevenson.
Also, thanks to both Allan Waugh and Josie Wilson for the help given to both Coaches.
On Friday night which was held under lights, the teams were evenly matched
with the Green team taking out a very close match with the score being Blue 15 – Green 16. The night was abuzz with how the competition was so
The second match was held at 1 pm on Saturday with the outcome reversed with the Blue team coming out on top – Score Blue 20 defeated Green 15. Saturday Night’s game was going to be the cliffhanger with the teams winning one game each.
With the great crowds for both nights and the comments buzzing around, how this is not like Juniors playing. They all played well above their age. I must add how well the selectors went with picking the two teams, there were no players that were out of place.
Score for the final Game – Blue 14 – Green 15
Best Lady player was Holly Turnbull
Horse of the Matches – Gemma Stuart
Thanks for the opportunity to be involved and apart of this wonderful series.
Looking forward to next year’s Development Squads.
