As part of Polocrosse Australia’s recent organisational transition, President Graham Lane is delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Grills as the National Executive Officer.
Grills has 13 years’ experience within the sport & event industry and joins Polocrosse Australia from Athletics Australia. Prior to this, Kate held the Senior Event Managers role with Netball Australia where she was responsible for operational policies & procedures, broadcast management & major event government funding deliverables.
During her tenure at Netball Australia, she designed and implemented the delivery model that defined match day and team operations for the new national netball league, Suncorp Super Netball. In addition, she led the successful delivery of the international test series, achieving an 87% capacity sell rate in ticket sales, using market research and trend analysis.
Graham Lane said Grills was an exceptional candidate for the role.
“We’re very proud to have secured Kate as the NEO. Her wealth of knowledge and experience from world leading organisations such as Netball Australia, will be invaluable to the future growth of our sport.”
Grills has had a lifelong involvement in polocrosse, primarily as a spectator – where she largely credits the 2004 Polocrosse Nationals in Albury as the catalyst for her to study a Bachelor of Sport Management / Bachelor Event Management.
Speaking on her appointment, Grills said she’s looking forward to the impact she can have on the organisation, and what it means moving forward.
“I am thrilled to have been appointed into this role. I am confident I can bring a fresh sports management perspective and contribute to Polocrosse Australia’s organisational progress,” said Grills.
“I am really excited about the possibilities and potential for Polocrosse in Australia, and the direction it is headed.”
Grills officially commences in the full-time position on 23 May 2022.
