Australia leaves no stone unturned in tri-test series against New Zealand

The Goodline Australian World Cup team were once again victorious over New Zealand in a three-match test series held over the weekend. Hosted by the Gold Coast Polocrosse Club at their annual club carnival in Killarney, Queensland, the second Tri-Test was part of Australia’s #nostoneunturned World Cup preparation campaign.

Match 1, held on Friday, May 17, in muddy conditions, saw Australia take the first win, 43 to 13. The following day, in warm Autumn weather, despite New Zealand taking the field with renewed vigour, Australia continued to dominate, defeating New Zealand 34 to 14. On Sunday, in the third match, Australia made it a clean sweep, with a final score of 4o to 15.

This was the Goodline Australian team’s first opportunity to come together as a playing side for some time, with the coaching line-up focussing on bringing the team together to connect, work on their combinations and prepare for the World Cup in South Africa during July. It was great to see the Goodline Australian polocrosse team cheered-on by the club teams attending the carnival and the spectating crowds enjoying a day at the polocrosse.

Polocrosse Australia and the Goodline Australian team extend their thanks to the Gold Coast Polocrosse Club for hosting the test series and for their hospitality. The event not only showcased the talent and passion for polocrosse in both countries, but also strengthened the bonds of friendship between our nations and within sport.
