Member information sessions on Polocrosse Australia’s proposed constitution update

Polocrosse Australia (PA) invites all members of the Australian polocrosse community to attend one of two upcoming online information sessions about the organisation’s proposed constitutional changes.

As part of PA’s ongoing commitment to strong governance, transparency and growth, starting during late 2024 the Board, in consultation with State and Territory Associations and with support from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), legal advisors, has undertaken a comprehensive review of the current constitution.

This review identified key opportunities to modernise PA’s constitution to ensure it:

  • reflects current governance and legislative standards;
  • supports a modern, skills-based Board structure;
  • clarifies member voting rights;
  • strengthens alignment with PA’s strategic priorities; and
  • positions the organisation for sustainable future growth and national representation.

Upcoming information sessions

To help members better understand the proposed changes and ask questions directly, PA will host two online information sessions:

Sunday, 9 November 2025 – 5:00 pm AEDT
 Information session #1 – PA 2025 Constitution update | Meeting-Join | Microsoft Teams

📅 Wednesday, 12 November 2025 – 8:00 pm AEDT
 Information session #2 – PA 2025 Constitution update | Meeting-Join | Microsoft Teams

Both sessions will be open to all members and will provide an overview of the proposed updates, the reasons behind the changes, and what they mean for the sport’s governance going forward.

Members do not need to register in advance — simply join at the scheduled time using the session links provided above.

Explanatory memorandum

Members are encouraged to read the full Explanatory memorandum – Constitution update 2025 before attending an information session.

The memorandum outlines:

  • the purpose and background of the proposed constitutional changes;
  • the process for member consideration and approval; and
  • a detailed clause-by-clause comparison between the current constitution (2022) and the proposed new constitution (2025).

It provides context to the proposed updates, including the introduction of a Nominations Committee and Finance, Audit and Risk (FAR) Committee, changes to voting structures, updated meeting provisions, and gender-balance and governance improvements across PA’s leadership.

Get involved

These sessions are an opportunity to hear directly from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) on recent legislative reforms, and from the PA Board on how the proposed changes will strengthen governance and representation across Australian polocrosse.

All members are encouraged to attend one of the two sessions.
