A modern approach to coaching

Polocrosse Australia supports the ASC’s modern approach to coaching, which is about supporting the development, education and training of coaches and empowering them to provide safe, fun and inclusive environments that focus on the needs and motivations of participants.

The modern approach will reshape the sporting experience and encourage more people to play, coach and enjoy sport.

Below are some of the resources and programs the ASC has available to help support coaches. They are free to access.

Community Coaching Essential Skills Course

The Community Coaching Essential Skills Course course helps coaches create safe, fun and inclusive environments for participants.

Community Coaching Masterclasses

The Community Coaching Masterclasses will help grow the capability and competence of Australia’s coaches. Each Masterclass extends upon topics covered in the Community Coaching Essential Skills course and guides coaches on how to apply this knowledge in their own environment by following the ASC’s Coach Development Model.

Coaching and Officiating Women and Girls

The Coaching Women and Girls initiative was established to support coaches in community sport to create safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun environments for women and girls.

Supporting Others

The ASC’s Supporting Others resources enable and empower people to provide on-the-job, developmental support to coaches and officials. This helps create safe learning environments that positively impact the quality of participant experiences. A range of animated videos and supplementary resources can be used in both informal development contexts and formal mentoring, facilitation and educator training programs.

Polocrosse Australia is proudly supported by the Australian Sports Commission.
