It’s been a journey for Queenslander and mum-of-one, Sam Allen, to get here. But now she’s onthe team it’s only forward from here.

“You’ve just got to get after what you want to do.

“I’ve been in and out of Australian squads for 10 years, I fell pregnant and had to pull out, and recently broke my leg, but I’ll be back playing in six weeks and I’m literally going to get a couple of opportunities between now and the World Cup to pull on the green and gold, so I’ve got to be focussed.

“There’s a lot of young, tough players coming through and they deserve their opportunities too.”
